Movie Vault up for sale… again
Looks like Tyler Cruz is trying to sell his Movie Reviews site again over at Sitepoint. The BIN, a mere $50k. The site is about 8 years old and has a hoard of movie information on it – boasting around 2,300 reviews, although most of the movie reviews are quite old they are well written but I’m guessing they don’t bring in alot of traffic.
The SEO on the site is absolutely terrible. Just checkout the title of some of the pages I visted: ”
Movie-Vault.com :: Over 2000 Reviews and Counting…” This is the same for actual reviews such as Hell Boy 2. Aswell as the dup title tag, the description and keyword tags offers the same poorly optimized information:
<meta name=“keywords” CONTENT=“movie reviews, reviews, movies, movie vault, movievault, movie forum, wallpaper, critic, critics, interviews, chat, forum, contests, celebrities, hollywood, quotes, news, discussion, trailers” />
<meta name=“description” CONTENT=“Movie Vault has over 2000 movie reviews, movie wallpaper, forums, and tons more!” />
Regarding the design and code, if someone were to buy this site, they’re looking at a few thousand to get the site brought up to date, get a new CMS and for the content to be imported over.
If you also look at the one screen shot of the overall traffic he provides, the bounce rate is a whopping 68.34%!! and the total time people are spending on the site? – just over a minute and a half?? What the hell is going on there.
This has been the 4th time Tyler has put this site up for sale and I’ll bet it won’t be the last.
The shed load of outrageously obvious T-L-A’s in the sidebar won’t do any buy any favours either..
Your opinion on the stats of the site drew my attention.
You seem to think they are terrible. I dinn’t thinks so. My site has a bounce rate ranging from 45 – 60%
Average viitor time is about 2 minutes 30 seconds to 3 minutes thirty seconds.
These figures used to be far worse. I reckon they are good (actually I thought they were very good) but that was with nothing to base it off.
What is normal? Is there such a thing?
Thanks
John
